Barack O-pun-a

Democratic Senator Barack Obama has won an historic US election, with coverage of his victory dominating all of today's newspapers (which didn't get delivered to my office, today of all days - typical!).

I'm liking the Daily Mirror's punnage, despite it not being original:

GOBAMA!

Welcome punlovers...

...To an e-celebration of headline puns, which we witness every day in the British press. I often witness some truly incredible punning, and felt it was about time we had a place where we could come together and marvel at this undervalued artform.

I have always loved a good pun, and over the years have built up a strong reputation / annoying habit of dropping them into everyday conversations. Some are funny, others most definitely are not. Indeed, you could even say that some of my worst ones are 'punishable offences'. Ha. But the effort and passion (and loose screw) are there at least.

As often as I can on this website I will highlight a particular story with a punderful headline, and then come up with my own alternative pun. The aim of this site is to make you groan with joy and encourage pun-related debate. You could even come up with some of your own puns for the day's news, or share your favourite ever headline.
